Sj\u00e1lfsbj\u00f6rg, the National Federation of the Disabled, collaborates with various organizations, both domestic and international. Here are a few of them.<\/p>

\u00d6B\u00cd Rights Association<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>

Sj\u00e1lfsbj\u00f6rg is one of the founding members of \u00d6B\u00cd Rights Association, and members of Sj\u00e1lfsbj\u00f6rg have always taken an active part in \u00d6B\u00cd's work. Two representatives from Sj\u00e1lfsbj\u00f6rg have served as its chairperson: \u00d3l\u00f6f R\u00edkhar\u00f0sd\u00f3ttir and \u00deur\u00ed\u00f0ur Harpa Sigur\u00f0ard\u00f3ttir.<\/p>

Ramps up Iceland<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>

Sj\u00e1lfsbj\u00f6rg National Federation of the Disabled fully supports Ramps Up Iceland, which aims to build 1,500 new ramps across the country. \u00deur\u00ed\u00f0ur Harpa Sigur\u00f0ard\u00f3ttir is the vice chair of the board, and Margr\u00e9t Lilja A\u00f0alsteinsd\u00f3ttir is an alternate board member.<\/p>

Good accessibility in tourism<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>

In collaboration with the Tourist Board, the Housing and Building Authority, and \u00d6B\u00cd, Sj\u00e1lfsbj\u00f6rg, the National Association of People with Disabilities, is sponsoring the "Good Accessibility in Tourism" project. The project aims to improve accessibility and information about accessibility at hotels, restaurants, tourist sites, and recreational activities through self-assessment and tools. It is a matter of justice that people with disabilities have equal access to travel services and travel.<\/p>

Day of Remembrance for Victims of Traffic Accidents<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>

The Transport Authority, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Landsbj\u00f6rg, the police, the Road Administration, and Sj\u00e1lfsbj\u00f6rg, the National Association of the Disabled, organize the annual international day to commemorate the victims of traffic accidents.<\/p>

Nordic Disability Federation<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>

Nordiska Handikappf\u00f6rbundet (NHF) is a Nordic association of Sj\u00e1lfsbj\u00f6rg's sister organizations from each of the Nordic countries. Representatives of these associations, who are the chairs and executive directors of each national organization, form the NHF's "board." They meet twice a year to discuss the issues that are currently of most concern. The presidency of the organization rotates annually among the individual countries, in line with the rotation of the chairmanship of the Nordic Council of Ministers.<\/p>

Medic Alert<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>

MedicAlert in Iceland is part of an international organization that issues a medical alert device for people to wear. The device displays vital information about the wearer's medical conditions and\/or disabilities. It provides a direct link to the emergency department of Landsp\u00edtali, where more detailed information is stored.
