Thuridur Harpa Sigurdardottir
Chairman
Þuríður Harpa Sigurðardóttir was elected chairperson of Sjálfsbjörg at the 2024 national convention. She was the chairperson of ÖBÍ Rights Association from October 2017 to October 2023. She served on the board of the European Disability Forum (EDF) from 2018 to 2026. Þuríður Harpa was re-elected as chairperson of the national association at the National Assembly in April 2026.

Vice-Chairman
Jón Heiðar was elected vice-chair at the 2025 National Assembly. He has extensive experience with the work of Sjálfsbjörg and other advocacy issues for people with disabilities. He is the treasurer of ÖBÍ Rights Association until the fall of 2026 and is an alternate member of the board of Íslenskar Getspár. For many years, he has been a board member of Sjálfsbjörg in Akureyri and the surrounding area, the sports club Akur, and various other committees.
