Information about individual security

Here we compile various issues concerning the safety of people in society.

Where are my keys? – Key seeker

Key seeker is small student that you have on the keychain. If you don't know where you put your keys, you can click the device or tag, and the sensor will make a sound. It's also possible to attach this to a wallet, a backpack, etc. You can get them, for example, from:

Amazon

Keybox – spare keys

It can be suitable for many to have Spare key in the key box which is usually attached to the house – position it so that it is not in plain sight. This is a small box where a key is stored, and its door is locked with a combination. If you plan to use a key box, buy a high-quality one so it is not easy to pry open. A key box can reduce the chances of people being locked out. If there are many people other than the household members who need to get in (e.g., cleaning services, home health care, and relatives), it eliminates the need to distribute house keys to multiple people. The keys are kept in the lockbox, so you only need to share the combination to the numeric lock. The companies we know that sell lockboxes are The House BuilderElkoLocks and Machines and tools

It is also possible to make an arrangement with a neighbor, if there is good trust between them, to keep a spare key.

MedicAlert

MedicAlert is international Emergency service system which is run without profit and widely on a volunteer basis.   MedicAlert is an international, non-profit safety organization that provides information about badge holders in an emergency and has been operating in this country for a quarter of a century. The Icelandic chapter has over 6,000 bearers, while the headquarters in California serves millions of bearers in over 40 countries. They offer various solutions, which can be found on their website.

Safety buttons – nurse call system

In recent years, there has been significant development of "safety buttons" that the elderly, in particular, wear on a necklace or bracelet, as the phone (smartphone) has become part of the device. Various automatic solutions have also been developed that t.d. read the environment of the person being "monitored" and the device alerts them if a change occurs in the person's environment, e.g., if the person has not moved for a long time, there is a change in the temperature of their apartment/room, water consumption changes from normal, etc. This leads to discussions about medical alert systems or home monitoring instead of just security buttons. Technology is developing quite rapidly in this field. The following companies are known to offer a "panic button" or some form of medical alert system, and people need to carefully research the differences in the nature of these solutions:

Security monitoring equipment – home security system

Home security systems have been available for decades. For the most part, this has been rather standard equipment connected to the monitored stations of the respective security companies. This equipment detects movements in the monitored areas of the home; smoke and moisture detectors have also been part of this system. Surveillance cameras were later added. People would activate the security system when they left home, and if any of the sensors detected a discrepancy, signals would be sent to the monitoring company, which would then respond.

In recent years, there have been major technological changes with the advent of, for example, smartphones and better internet connections. Today, people can buy simple monitoring equipment widely (and in online stores) that they can even install themselves (or purchase that service), and the equipment sends alerts to their phone if something happens. People are advised to carefully research which service or equipment is right for them. Below are some companies that offer monitoring and others that sell monitoring equipment:

Smartwatch

In recent years, smartwatches have been in constant development, and many of them have features that can make it easier for people to call for help and get assistance. Many of them also have a fall detector that senses if the person falls. It's a good idea to find out how sensitive the fall detector is and how fast its response is. Smartwatches can be purchased from most phone carriers and at electronics stores such as:

Elko
