The Icelandic Games took place in Selfoss on March 29-30. There, individuals with mobility impairments and other disabilities had the opportunity to try soccer, basketball, handball, gymnastics, and track and field. In addition to competing in the same sports, a fun program was offered. Participants also had the opportunity to try wheelchair basketball and a special chair that allows individuals with mobility impairments to participate in throwing sports such as bowling and shot put.
„These are games for children or anyone who doesn't fit into traditional sports activities, and this is the second time the games have been held. We first went last year in Akureyri.“
says Valdimar Guðmundsson, project manager of "Allir með". Sjálfsbjörg encourages parents of children with disabilities and all interested parties to learn about "ALLIR MEÐ" and the opportunities available to individuals with mobility impairments through the Sports Federation for the Disabled.
