ÖBÍ – a disability rights organization, is hosting a rights march on Labor Day, May 1st. This year, the march will be held under the slogan "Create Jobs for Everyone." People will gather for the rally at Skólavörðuholt at 1:00 PM. The march will begin at 1:30 PM, proceeding down Skólavörðustíg, Bankastræti, and Austurstræti to Ingólfstorg, where a program will take place.
Vehicles with disabled individuals holding a parking permit are authorized to pass through the manned closure at Frakkastíg/Bergþórugata and enter the drop-off zone at the Technical College, using the same route for exit. Therefore, the permit holder must be a passenger in the vehicle. A drop-off zone is also provided at the manned closure at the intersection of Eiriksgata and Njarðargata.
ÖBÍ rights organizations are serving coffee after the program at the Human Rights House, Sigtún 42, and are offering tours from Ingólfstorg. More information is available at Events on Facebook.
