Social security

Social insurance is a public insurance system that all citizens are a part of and pay for with their taxes.

Social insurance, for example, pays for medical costs, prescription drugs (according to specific rules), hospital stays, and also ensures a minimum standard of living for people. Social insurance also includes: old-age pensions, disability pensions, accident insurance, and health insurance.

  • TR is responsible for: Pension matters and family/caregiving matters.

The role of TR is to enforce the Social Security Act, the Social Assistance Act, and the Act on Long-Term Illness for Children, as well as to carry out other tasks assigned to the institution from time to time.   • SI is responsible for: Health insurance, including reimbursement for medical, dental, pharmacy, and training bills, accident insurance, along with an Assistive Device Center.
