The Blind Association
The Blind Association's building at Hamrahlíð 17 has about 20 rental apartments that are leased to members on a long-term basis. In addition, two guest apartments and one guest room are rented out to members and their families for short periods. See more at website of the Blind Association
Brynja Housing Fund of the Disabled Persons' Association of Iceland
On a website Armor Its mission is to own and operate apartments for people with disabilities. The fund buys and builds rental apartments. Brynja owns over 800 apartments that are intended almost exclusively for those with a 75% disability rating.

SEM Association of Rehabilitated Spinal Cord Injured
Objective The organization's SEM are building and operating social housing that takes into account the special needs of people with mobility impairments, for members of SEM. Also to collect, receive, and allocate funds for the construction and operation of social housing, housing cooperatives, necessary assistance for the residents, or other related service activities.

Municipal social housing
Many municipalities own social rental housing and/or assisted living apartments. More information about the application process for social rental housing can be found on the municipalities' websites.
Residence
With a residence right from Búseta, a resident minimizes their financial investment in a property and purchases a residence right that guarantees them security of tenure for as long as they wish, and receives services related to property maintenance. The resident cannot be evicted as long as they are up-to-date on their monthly payments and comply with the association's rules. More at Búseta website
