Social and School Services of Rangárvallasýsla and West Skaftafellssýsla serves residents Ásahrepps, West Rangá District, East Rangariki, Mýrdalshreppur and Skaftárhrepps. The headquarters of the social services are at Hello. The staff also have facilities at the municipal offices so that residents can access the service close to home. Social service staff also visit people's homes if they are unable to come to the municipal office.

The municipalities of Hveragerði, Ölfus, Grímsnes- og Grafningshreppur, Árborg, Flóahreppur, and Bláskógabyggð, Hrunamannahreppur, Skeiða- og Gnúpverjahreppur, Ásahreppur, Rangárþing ytra, Rangárþing eystra, Skaftárhreppur, and Mýrdalshreppur operate the Bergrisan municipal joint venture for the affairs of people with disabilities.

The member municipalities delegate to the joint municipality the planning and provision of services for people with disabilities who are residents of the member municipalities, in accordance with the Act on Services for People with Disabilities with Long-Term Support Needs No. 38/2018.
